THE BRIEF
The project began with a name, an icon and a clear rejection of the category norms. They didn't want to look like every other energy company - cold, technical, scientific. This brief needed warmth, personality and emotional pull.
Bluepig Energy was founded by Yorkshire friends Tom and Jem. They developed an EV battery-powered generator that delivers reliable power and internet without the noise, fumes or disruption of diesel generators. giving the events industry a cleaner, more sustainable alternative.
THE RESPONSE
A strategy rooted in the sensory, turning utility into an emotional experience.
Nobody attends a festival, wedding or outdoor event for the generator. They come for the music, the atmosphere, the people, and the memories they'll take home.
Bluepig's role is simply to make sure those moments happen without interruption. Instead of positioning the brand around power, we positioned it around what power enables.
The execution translated this philosophy into each touchpoint. Through human storytelling, and close-up, sensory visuals, Bluepig became less about generators and more about trust, presence, and experience.
By selling the experience rather than the infrastructure, Bluepig had a clear point of difference.
The visual identity needed to build on this - creating a brand that felt as distinctive, memorable, and confident as the moments it serves.
THE BRAND SYSTEM
As a new to world brand, the identity was designed for visibility, recognition, and cut-through.
Softens large blocks of colour, adds visual interest, and creates a dynamic backdrop.
THE MESSAGE
As a new category with little market awareness, the challenge wasn't just launching the product - it was creating a message that made its value instantly clear.
Palette maximises recognition and differentiation within an industry dominated by dark greens, blacks and industrial greys.
We came to Mairi with an innovative product but no clear roadmap for how to market it. She took a complex, emerging idea and transformed it into a compelling brand that customers immediately understand and have responded positively to. From strategy and storytelling to the website, social media and launch materials, she's been instrumental in bringing Bluepig to life.
As founders, we don't have the time or marketing expertise to do this ourselves, so having someone who cares about the brand as much as we do has been awesome. We continue to work with her on retainer because she just totally gets what we're trying to achieve and consistently delivers work we trust."
